Party Over Here!

This past weekend has been one party after another. Friday night, David planned an amazing date night. I had a blast! First, we ordered take-away from an Outback in Sandy. Why Sandy, you ask? Because we drove up there and picked it up, then went to the drive-in up there and watched a double feature while eating our picnic dinner in the back of Lumpy (our car). It was SO FUN! We saw Iron Man 2 and Date Night which were pretty good movies. But I had never been to a drive-in theater and so that was really fun for me. The theater up in Sandy is huge. They have like 5 screens. It was fabulous.

Before the date I Friday, I spent most of my time shopping for David's birthday presents. His birthday isn't until Thursday, but we couldn't wait any longer to open presents so we decided to celebrate his birthday on Saturday. Yeah, we probably need to work on our patience. We got an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen and blew out the candles! We'll probably re-celebrate on his actual birthday (just without the presents). I love birthdays!

Saturday night, we went and saw my little sister Kelsey dance in a ballroom concert. She had a solo and was front and center for a lot of the other dances. I was SO proud of her! She did an amazing job. Even though there's not really a connection, it made me want to try out for the UVU symphony orchestra. I miss playing in an orchestra. And that would give me motivation to practice.

David's work conference went really well this week. His presentation went very smoothly--I knew it would! Everyone there was really impressed with him. One of the sponsors gave David his business card and said that if he changed his mind about going to law school to give him a call! He's amazing. We're sticking with law school though. David is really excited to go. Every time we drive past the law building on campus, David says, "that's where I'm going to go next year!". Hopefully we'll love law school.

I had another job interview last week on Thursday. I interviewed on the peds floor. I REALLY hope I get this one. It's a part time evening position which would work out really well for school. It seems perfect. And the peds floor was adorable! The nurses station desk was really low to the ground so the little pediatric patients can see over it. There was a cute play room and fun paintings everywhere. The nurses I interviewed with seem fabulous! I got an email from HR saying that they are running behind. Which is why I haven't heard from jobs I interviewed for more than 2 weeks ago. Truth be told, I definitely want this peds job and I'm really hoping I get this one. I'll keep you updated.

Conquering the Mountain

What up, What up?? This week has been pretty good. David and I spent most of Saturday hiking 8.4 miles to the top of Squaw Peak and back. We did the same hike last year. It's a toughy but it's also a really fun hike. The trail was great until about the last mile. It's been so warm here that we didn't really think about there being 4 feet of snow and really gross mud on the trail. But alas, there was. I wore my old running shoes that have next to no tread and that was definitely a mistake. One that I won't be making again as the shoes are pretty much ruined. The view from the top is incredible! I'm terribly afraid of heights and wouldn't go close to the end but the end made the nasty trail worth it. I'll be posting pictures once David gets home from work (I promise I won't forget this time...).

Right now, my days mostly consist of going to the gym and doing statistics. Not very fun Also cleaning the house. It's amazing how messy houses can get even when you clean them every day...I had 4 job interviews at the hospital last week. There's a couple that I'm really interested in--acute rehab and peds--and I'm hoping to get "the call" sometime this week. Part of me gets worried about how I will handle the rest of nursing school if I do get the job however. One of them is full time so I'm hoping that they are willing to work with me since nursing school shows no mercy. As they say, "Nurses eat their young." Working 5 twelve hour shifts per week is probably not a very good way to waste my life. Anyway...we'll see how it all works out.

David's work conference starts this week. He's going to be very busy getting ready for his presentation. We also have to socialize with all the important people that are in town so that means the wife gets involved as well. We're going out to dinner with a bunch of important people on Wednesday night. I'm sure David is going to do fabulously this week. He is so good at his job! I like him.

I've been getting to spend more time with Charis since school ended. It's been fun hanging out with her and Brylee. She's probably the cutest kid that ever lived. I got to watch her while Charis got her hair done last week and we had a lot of fun. I'll post a picture of her too because I just think she's so darn cute!

Finals are Over!

So sorry I drop off the face of the earth every time finals come around. Everything was so busy with studying and David's graduation. Things have definitely calmed down quite a bit in the past couple of weeks.

Graduation was awesome! David is officially a chemical engineer. I'm so proud of him! He rocked his last semester despite his hard-core senioritis. I would post pictures, but unfortunately, during graduation week, the camera broke. No good. The ceremony was great and David looked dashing in his cap and gown. It was a good week. David is still working at his job in the DIPPR lab on campus. They've been pretty busy as they're hosting a conference. David has to do presentations and all sorts of things that are keeping him working hard.

Finals went well for me. I'm glad the semester is over. I'm taking statistics this summer to try to lighten my work load for later semesters. I hate statistics. I will be glad to be done with it. I'm taking it online and so I'm hoping that I will be able to get everything done without driving myself nuts.

I've been looking for jobs as a CNA around the valley. I had a few interviews last week and have one tomorrow. I'm hoping one of them pans out because I think it would be great to have a job where I can work with patients. Interviewing is no fun. I've been feeling a lot like a show horse or something. Anyway, life is good. I'm very thankful for David because he is definitely the best husband in the whole world. We're planning on a lot of fun stuff this summer. Maybe we'll be able to get a new camera so I can take pictures. I'll keep everyone updated!
